People’s perception of “sourness” is quite peculiar. When two sour tastes appear at the same time, we instinctively compare them — and the one that feels less sour becomes what we call “sweet.” It made me think about how our definition of sourness resembles the way we learn to compromise with things or people that don’t go as we wish.

In my film, I wanted to explore this idea through the relationships between women — a theme I’m always drawn to. When we face moments that test our principles, do we allow ourselves to slowly adapt and compromise? And when we start calling something sour “sweet,” are we also letting go of what we once believed in, or what we used to long for? Perhaps, without realizing it, we begin to choose another path — one that moves us further away from our true feelings.
