Feng, who returns to her hometown as a middle school teacher, crosses paths with Yanling, a staff member at a photography museum. Their shared loneliness and unspoken connection draw them closer, but beneath the surface lies a deeper bond. Their relationship becomes intertwined with Xiaoyu, Feng's student and Yanling's daughter. When Xiaoyu goes missing, it unearths long-buried pain from their pasts, leading to the eventual collapse of their fragile connection.​
